After some comments on the area of Germanic Philology within the
disciplinary tradition of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the article presents
several topics of reflection on the situation of the Humanities and, in particular,
of the field of literary studies in the present-day University. A brief conclusion
ponders upon the possible meaning of a “return to philology”.

de reflexão sobre a situação das Humanidades e, em particular, dos estudos
